From what can often be read, Rodinal — a developer known for emphasizing grain — is not the most intuitive choice for push processing film. But what kind of results does it produce in medium format?
Shadow Detail

Even with a heavily underexposed negative like this one (two to three stops), shadow areas still retain visible detail.
Subtle Grain

In medium format (6×6 centimeters), grain is not noticeable unless the image is enlarged.
Grain will obviously become visible with 35mm film, but its structure should remain aesthetically pleasing.
Satisfying Results

Even with the underdeveloped negatives I ended up with, I still find the results quite good.
Grain remains relatively discreet and tonal rendering is pleasing in medium format. However, this does not seem particularly relevant for 35mm unless a deliberately grainy look is desired.
