Who manufactured the Auto Revuenon 240mm F4.5?
Revue is indeed the distributor, not the manufacturer.
The Auto Revuenon 240mm F4.5 was manufactured by ENNA MUNCHEN (West Germany, Munich) in the 1960s-70s*. It can also be found under other names (Porst, Enna, etc.).

A long focal length allows you to obtain a different perspective on your subject.
Correct performances
The lens and its four elements don’t excel in image quality. For comparison, the Nikkor 180mm F2.8 AIS I used in this contact sheet is two notches above in this regard.
However, its optical performance remains respectable, and the images are perfectly usable even wide open.

A simple construction

Tere is no automatic diaphragm closure: everything is done at actual aperture.

A lightweight material (polycarbonate) is used for the lens barrel, but it still gives an impression of solidity.
In terms of handling, the lens is very easy to handle and pleasant to use. The controls are easy to find and the focus ring is quite comfortable to operate.
Compact and lightweight!
As you can see, if I find myself photographing with this lens rather than with the Nikkor 180mm F2.8, it is because it has the advantage of being light and does not take up excessive space in my bag.

Economical as well
The Auto Revuenon 240mm F4.5 might not weigh any more in your bag than it does on your wallet.
The lens’s basic appearance seems to lead sellers to price it in a way that doesn’t reflect its qualities. But the hardest part is finding one…
